Geek Squad Complaint - Geek Squad is a fraudulent bunch of jerks!

Review by masquaw on 2010-06-15
RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA -- We bought a Samsung 32 inch TV from Best Buy and got the "Geek Squad" coverage as well as the extended warranty. The second year it had no picture, just the little red light that told us the power was on. We called and asked if the GEEKS would come and fix it, but were told it was too far for them to drive. We asked what we were supposed to do, and they said to "call somebody by this name" and they'll fix it. "Somebody by this name" was not available in this area, so we have now been without our TV for a week, and no help in sight. Best Buy said today to 'bring it in' and we'll take a look at it...

WISH US LUCK, BUT DON'T CALL THE GEEKS, MUCH LESS PAY FOR THAT "SERVICE".

Take your contract with you and ask a MANAGER to show you the travel exclusions; if he cannot, then you should request compensation for time and travel.

True story - I bought Apple Care with my 21" iMac; when it stopped working, I called and they send a technician to my house twice. I lived in the middle of Nowhere Texas and this guy traveled well over 100 miles each way. Even gave me a free stick of RAM for my trouble
