DirecTV Inc Complaint - Small Print in Contract / Ridiculous Cancellation Fees
17 months ago I began using DirecTV Inc as my primary cable company. They ONLY advertised the great discounted price that they failed to mention would significantly increase in three months, again in six months, and then again in 12 months. My initial bill was $39.99 and I am NOW Paying $129.99/month. I wanted to initially cancel my service after six months but they said I could NOT because I was on a 12 month contract. I am past that contract and I called to cancel again and they said I could not YET AGAIN cause I am on a 24 month contract due to the fact that I have "advanced equipment" i.e. I have the DVR receiver in my living room and to cancel it will cost $20/month for the rest of my contract ... a total $140 to cancel. They were NOT understanding on the phone, and the contracts are ridiculous.
