Sears Complaint - Does not honor online pricing
PRATTVILLE, ALABAMA -- I went online to check on a drive belt for my craftsman lawn tractor. I found the belt online for $20.99 so I called the store in PratTVille, Alabama to see if they had one in stock. Store Clerk stated he had only (1) in stock Price being $27.94. I told him I had found it online for $20.99 his reply was I suggest you buy it online then. I could buy it online and pick it up in the store in Montgomery for the $20.99 as they had (9) available in that store so I called to ask PratTVille why I could not do the same at their store. They stated they could not find it online so I even gave them the item #, they supposedly still couldn't find it, Now mind you, I was sitting in front of my computer looking at this belt online while talking to them, so either they are very stupid or just like ripping people off. I even told them I could print this offer off the Sears website and bring it to them. They stated they would not honor the price online as Sears Policy states, so I called to lodge a complaint about the store and Sears Nationwide said that the Sears in PratTVille is privatly owned so they can charge whatever they please. This is riduculous. Either they are Sears or Not. If they don't have to honor the online price why would they have to honor anything else that is stated as Sears Policy. If you are going to shop Sears you need to go to the the Sears in Montgomery as the one in PratTVille undoubtably just uses the Name but does not have to follow protocol.
