Whirlpool Doesn't Care
Side by Side refrigerator - Complaint
Our 2.5 year old side by side fridge stopped working over 3 weeks ago. Whirlpool arranged a service company to come fix it 4 days later. After working a full day, that repairman couldn't fix it and sent a different repairman the next day. He said it couldn't be fixed either. They sent the claim to Whirlpool. First our claim was denied (3 days later) because they claimed the service company didn't submit the correct report with the claim. Then after stating they had all the needed info, they denied it again because the needed a "second opinion" (guess the two separate repairman don't count). They set us up with an appointment with "their best service company" (why didn't they send them the first time?). Again another week goes by and a repairman from the second company comes, looks at the fridge for a couple minutes and says "I have to order a part, it will take 4 days". Well after complaining about waiting again, they were nice enough to overnight the part, but the service company still couldn't come for another 4 days to replace the part. Now the next guy comes and tells us the last guy wasn't authorized to look at fridges and he thinks since the compartment has been opened for over 2 weeks it is probably contaminated. In order to attempt to fix it he needs to order 4 more parts but thinks it probably won't be able to be fixed anyway. Now its been over 3 weeks since we have not had a fridge. We have spoke with countless "supervisors" who express deepest concern but don't do anything and then give their phone numbers but never return messages. Whirlpool refuses to accept that this fridge is junk and keeps telling us we have to "wait to see" after ordering all these parts if the fridge doesn't work if they will even replace it. We are awaiting the parts and now the repair company can't get to us for another 6 days which will make it 4 weeks without a fridge. Whirlpool does not care that I can't feed my family without my fridge. When I told a supervisor that they have spent and continue to spend WAY more in repairmen and parts than the cost of a new fridge she told me "we don't look at it like that". So they don't care about costs? Then why don't they just send me a new fridge already and end this ordeal? After this is over I will NEVER buy another Whirpool again. They are just jerking us around hoping we will go away and they won't have to pay up for their inferior products. What ever happened to companies that stand by their products? I bought Whirlpool appliances because I thought they were a reputable company. BOY was I wrong!!!
