DirecTV Inc Complaint - DirecTV make up of bank fraud thieves, do not give your bank acct numbers
DENVER, COLORADO -- Ordered this service for 29.95 ended up being 34.95 for 12 months. All okay, a few months in they started charging me for premium channels I did not order nor have I ever received. The billing went up to 69.00 a month. They also mounted a tripod dish behind bushes at my place which leafed out in April so no reception. I did not pay for a 2 month period and said they need to fix the dish and billing problems or I will quit.
At no time did I sign up for auto bill payment. Next step from DirecTV is use information on my bank account from a one time transaction to go into my account and withdraw 3 times on the same day. $13.95, $89.95 and $477.74 for a bill that was two months behind for a service that was not being provided.
This unexpected and unauthorized withdraw coming by chance at the same time I had paid for a new transmission for my car caused 5 overdraft fees or another $125.00 in charges.
I called DirecTV customer service and get someone in Asia who simply explains they charged me early cancellation and equipment fees with no resolution, I am then transferred to a supervisor that sounds like there are in India. Here I get at least someone that says they should credit me back the fees but will have to transfer me to another area of DirecTV. The transfer takes me to the wrong department. I have to start over at 90 minutes of being on the phone.
In the end filed I a dispute on the charges with my bank. Its basically fraud. DirecTV did say that they could credit my account back in 72 hours but this would only be a credit to my service account not to my bank account. Once it was in my direcTV account I could ask to have it put back in my bank account which take 6-8 weeks!!!!!!! 3 days later it was still not credited back as promised and I will continue with my dispute.
DirecTV did take away my cancellation so I now have service but only after I went outside with pruning shears and cut 2 feet off all the bushes close to the dish and had a neighbor help me align the dish. They also quit billing me for the showtime and whatever else it was that they were charging me for. Seems fair since I was not receiving them anyway.
Bottom line do not give these crooks your banking information. If you do then cancel the account immediately after so that they can not get access on their own.
By the looks of the complaints on all the web sites of this nature. If Dish ran a TV ad of former direcTV customers that switched and the reasons why, they would see a mass migration from these pathetic services and policies at DirecTV. If it rains no service, if it snows no service, if the computers down, no service. I have a bust day a head pasting this to as many sites as possible.
Email with any intrusions on your banking information from DirecTV for a possible class action suit.
