Comwave Telecommunications Complaint - Dishonest Billing Practices by Comwave
TORONTO -- I have been a customer of Comwave for close to 12 months and have no complaints regarding their actual service, however they have just informed me that a fee of $0.75 will be added to my future monthly invoices for the 911 service they provide.
When I questioned them they said that this fee was mandated by the CRTC. I then asked what the CRTC docket number was and they said 2005-21. This means that the docket was introduced in 2005 yet I signed up in September 2009 on a three year contract with no mention being made of any future increases.
I telephoned the CRTC and they stated that they mandated a fee of only $0.12 be charged.
I then told Comwave that I would be reducing my service from the added caller I. D. service; which I added well after my initial contract date; to that basic service which I originally signed up for.
Comwave informed me that there would be a $50 downgrade fee for this. Of course no mention was ever made of the downgrade fee when I upgraded.
Comwave is a lousy corporate citizen with an arrogance to boot.
I strongly urge people contemplating signing up with this company to avoid Comwave if at all possible. They are not an honest provider.
