NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- I purchased a clock radio as a gift. It was a fancy one that is supposed to keep the time even if the power goes out. It died one year later. I brought it back to the store and they exchanged it for me, with a new clock radio which I paid $65 for, as the old model wasn't available any more. The new one didn't work at all - dim display, impossible to figure out for programming alarms, and the alarm would go off at random times, without being set, or alarm 1 would be set and alarm 2 would go off!! This model is still available on their web-site as of June 2010: TimeSmart Self-Setting Alarm Clock Radio. This morning I was woken up at 5 A.M. by the wrong alarm going off and had had enough. When I went into the store I was met by a sour "assistant manager" who only offered to exchange the item for other merchandise. I don't want any more of their junk. I wanted my money back and they refused. I called Brookstone when I got home and they said that they will only give you your money back if you buy three bad clock radios. THREE!!! What a joke. I will NEVER buy any of their merchandise again. They should be ashamed of themslves. Don't buy their products! You will never get your money back!
