DirecTV Inc Complaint - Auto Bill Pay not canceled
I'm writing to warn people against using Auto Bill Pay through DirecTV. When I canceled it (after being surprised too many times when the payment suddenly increased and was taken out a day or two early), they never said a word about how long it would take to become effective. So I made a payment on my own, and they took another automatic payment anyway. When I called and emailed to complain and ask for a refund, they said they "couldn't" refund me but would only apply it to my next bill. I sent them a copy of the email showing the effective date of cancellation, but all they could say was "sorry, that's our policy." I think that any company that has the ability to accept your money instantly can also refund it instantly, if they want to; obviously DirecTV does not.
