British Airwahys Complaint - Poor service

when returning home from London to Chicago, O'Hare, There was a tremendous long wait to enter the plane from the terminal. B. A had begun loading the "preferred" passengers, many of whom had oversized luggage with them. After they were finally all on board, the regular passengers still had a long wait to board. By this time it was already beyond flight departure time. When we were finally allowed to board, once on board we were blocked at the entrance to the plane because the stewardesses were already serving drinks to the "preferred" passengers. We had to wait while they carried out this chore. Once allowed to procedd to our seats, the captain announced over the speaker (sounding somewhat put out!) that the people just allowed on the plane please take their seats so he could depart.
I have never in the many years of flying, seen an instance of stewardesses bringing refreshements to passengers before taking off and reaching cruising altitude. There were several other problems with this same flight, having to do with checking in, but will take too long to recite at this time. Clearly Brithish Air has some serious problems, and if this is typical, they will not long be in business.
