GE Capital Cons Cardco Informative - Info requested on GE Capital CONS CARDCO - credit card

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA -- A number of you have had bad experiences with this company and haven't been able to pay them online. I told them at the outset I would be paying them by BILLPAY and asked them where I could make my payment and got it.

Like many of you, I was supposed to get my charges interest free for a year, but interest fees started showing up immediately. But from previous experience with short term loans, I knew this to be normal and that it was always cleared at the end. Yet, the credit card business has changed from then. And seeing the complaints, I went to their website to check. I had a record of only two payments there, bothering me, but on my personal online billpay, I had a record of all my payments.(have found this to be one of the best features of online banking) I decided I better pay up before the year regardless of the hardship. Did then got another bill with $241 balance. I called disputing this. Related my online billpay record of payments to the service rep and asked why the charges. She said my account had 0% for 90 days. I said pleasantly but firmly "No, it was for a year." She said "go back to the doctor you paid with this card and have him call us and we will correct it within a week. I'm hoping so. If not, I'll let you know.
I didn't have the "late charge" fees because I've had a couple of very bad credit card experiences I've since programmed myself and my online billpay to pay those bills first and early.--and to stay with 1 or 2 credit cards.
Yet, I lapsed here, and will close out this account. Too many of you have been shafted.
