General Motors Complaint - 04' Chevrolet Suburban
We purchased a 04' Chevrolet Suburban in Dec. 07' from a dealership in Waco, Tx. it was a used vehicle with a little over 60,000 miles and in July/August of 08' I noticed that the speedometer did not seem to be reading correctly. Then the tachometer started messing up. I called GM and the dealership in McGregor told me that I could pay to have it fixed out of my pocket but was not willing to help me try to get GM to fix it. The dealership in Gatesville did a free diagnostic check and was willing to try to get GM to help with fixing it but GM told me that because I was not the original owner of the vehicle, I was going to have to fix it myself. I do not drive this vehicle very much because for one I have children and I am scared that it will go up in flames due to it shorting out in the dash. The mileage on it is not correct at all. It shows more miles than there are on it. The speedometer, gas gauge, battery gauge, oil gauge, and tachometer do not work correctly/read correctly. I spoke w/two GM Representatives and they informed me that because I was not the original owner, it had over 75,000 miles, and there is no recall on this vehicle that I would have to fix it myself. If there was ever a recall at that time I could submit my receipt and maybe be reimbursed. My brother-in-law is the original owner of a Chevrolet pickup and the same thing happened to him and GM again did nothing. I do not feel the GM stand behind their products like they advertise. I will never purchase another GM product in my life. We have owned Ford products and they stand behind their products and I will make my next purchase be a Ford. I do not recommend GM products to my family and friends/my kids. I only want GM to stand behind the products that they are producing. I have a serious problem with this vehicle and they refuse to do anything about it. I like the Suburban because of the room and the family trips that we take, the room is very important to my family. I only want my vehicle fixed and the mileage adjusted. If I can not get it fixed then I will continue to feel the way I do and not recommended GM to anyone.
