Van Camps Chicken of the Sea Tuna Product Complaint - Disappointing Product
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA -- I have now opened both 5 ounce cans of the Chunk White Albacore Tuna. Both could be considered tuna "soup". No chunks and difficult to decide if it was, in actuality, "white" or "albacore". The only sure thing (by the smell only) was it was, probably TUNA! Could have been some other type of fish as I guess they all pretty much smell the same, but I, hopefully, can assume it was again, probably TUNA!!!
It is really quite difficult to describe. Shredded (?), chopped (?), minced (?), well, you get the idea. It bore absolutely NO resemblance to chunk, or white. Both cans were purchased at the same store at the same time and had the same "codes" on the bottom of the cans: "Best by date of 01/22/14 and the numbers 7PN12 ACWBS 06:57, which I assume the company can use to identify the plant, the shift and the line of production in case there is some problem with bacterial infiltration that causes serious illness to people who ingest the tuna.
No problem at my end.....I decided to just feed it to my cats and WONDER F ALL WONDERS, they refused to eat it. Now, you must understand these two cats will, most generally, eat anything that stands still for a moment. Fussy eaters is NOT the word I would use to describe them and yet, they refused to eat this tuna "product". I am glad I am not the only one who found this problem.
And, I notice on the can the ONLY way to contact the company is to actually sit down and write them a letter using snail mail at an address in San Diego. How convenient THAT is. Well, I will sit down and write. My first thought is the company figures in this day and age most people will not take the time and they will not have to respond to any complaints. WRONG!!!!!
