Whirlpool - Unresponsive, substandard parts and false advertising
Cabrio Washer - Complaint
Bought a Cabrio Washer in summer of 2007. WHirlpool's big pitch is this washer doesn't use an agitator and has no rustable parts, drums etc.
Well, it recently stopped working, preceded by months of cycle interruptions and then stopping altogether.
When I called out the service provider they contract with, the serviceman said the bearing in the center was completely rusted out and that it was substandard to begin with.
The funny part is that I live alone and do not overly(that is an overstatement) use this washer.
So I have a very expensive washer that is broken after just under 3 years and on top of that, I have written to the CPSC COnsumer Product Safety Commission) and they responded immediately to my delighted surprise. However, I also wrote to the Vice President of Whirlpool's Consumer Products Division ( Kathryn Nelson) and haven't even gotten so much as an acknowledgment. This was after going round and round with their parts and service dept where they were not willing to give me any satisfaction, offering only 12% value on their inferior part.
I am so frustrated!!! And American Corporations wonder why we have no confidence or respect for them anymore. I would never buy another Whirlpool Product. In my opinion do not buy any of their washers, ...take your own risk with any other of their products.
