Saturn Complaint - Even in canada Saturn is sh*t
ONTARIO, CANADA, INDIANA -- 25 year old fire fighter and computer technician. I also am a land lord.. I work hard and consider my self a professional. I stand behind what I do.
Do you find any of these values in Saturn? After going to school and working (I drive ALOT in my technician career) I have had enough for old bad cars...so off I go to buy a 75000 KM Saturn. OOHHH this should be the end of my problems, break downs in the snow, burnt out motors, ect ect.. This won’t happen any more now that I have my New Car!
Boy was I Wrong
85000 KM, Transmission breaks, not only does it break, it completely explodes out the side of the car right threw the metal, but wait I was a smart man! I bought the extended warranty for $2500 dollars. This shouldn’t be a problem. Warranty will cover it! Yea!
**FLUSH** this is what the extended warranty was worth.
After inspection, and beating many other reasons why it was not my fault this happened I was blamed for the transmission damage... "Due to excessive spinning of my tires in the snow" This one I could not beat...so after 16 days of fighting with the dealership JOHN BEAR and the warranty company, with threats of using a lawyer I was able to get the repair covered by half the cost (50%) and most NOT ALL but most of my rental car covered.
Whew glad that’s over....
But Wait! It is December 27th 2004 and my check engine light is on. It has been going on and off for a while. Also the car has been slamming into reverse. For some time.
And now....I can’t back up, and going forward is not going so well either.
Not going back to John Bear I take the car to Saturn.
Again the transmission is blown and guess what, it was due to spinning my tires.....
Ok now is this happens once maybe it was my fault...but twice? For the same reason. Come on now maybe it’s not me but is it possible that the dam car has a faulty transmission?
I never even got stuck this year....besides in normal Canadian snowy weather.
Oh Ya and when the transmission broke the first time...it was summer time...tell me how do you spin you tires in summer time?
So now I owe $1750 bucks, and i'm on my third transmission in three years.
And I have to mention it once, I maintained this car better then I ever had any previous cars. Oil changes, new breaks, new tires, ect ect.
I am never going domestic again. Imports for me.
NEVER BUY A SATURN they are full of sh*t and there products do not last.
Especially if you drive a lot (60,000 km a year)
I CAN’T WAIT until I can get rid of this car
