Hughes net Complaint - Is this right
I have been with Hughes Net for about 9-10 yrs and recently beeb=n contacted to upgrade to a new system. About 4 mos ago my sytem started going down up to 10 times a day. Calls fixed it somethimes but I never got anything fixed. They wanted me to upgrade to the best system. It seems the best system sits on another satalite than the one I was on so the dish had to be repointed. I would not pay $245.00 to upgrade when I already pay $59 a month and paid about $80 a month for 15 months when I got the system. The service is all that is available here. Every call to a tech took over an hour and then I was referred to an advance tech. He said my modem needed to be replaced (and once again the pressure to upgrade). They got me to pay $145.00 to get a new modem and offered me 2 mos credit for my down time. The modem came it did not even turn on it was not working at all. The tech then said I needed to pay $145 to send out someone to re-possition my dish. After alomst 4 mos I agreed to this charge which is totally unfair since they are using new satalites and we have to pay to get on them. The tech disconnected my whole wireless system and hooked one computer to the modem direct so I could have service he said he gets $80 to come out and I had to sign saying I had service so he gets paid. He could not use the new modem it would not work so it was returned but this company is charging people to change to their satalites as they switch them. I feel robbed not only did I have service for 10-25 minutes then it would shut of for over 4 mos they would not give me credit for the modem that I had a confirmation they received until they checked it out and they asked me to call back in 5 more days.
