Best Buy Complaint - Don't buy computers at Best Buy!!!
Bought a Toshiba laptop in November for $470 (with $89 service contract). There were supposedly "restore disks" enclosed, so that you could remove anything from the computer that you installed before you returned the product. They were not included, though I paid extra. As I began to install programs, strange icons popped up for program I did not install. Windows 7 did not allow me to uninstall anything. I returned the laptop to Best Buy 2 days after purchase. They said they would have to charge me a 15% restocking charge, PLUS a charge of $150 for their GEEKS to return the computer to its in-box state. I asked if the service contract would cover it, and they said no. So I demanded a refund for that contract. Their GEEKS were fooling around behind the counter with nothing to do. All they had to do was feed their restore disks to the computer - no human interaction was required, but they refused. So on a $350 computer, they charged me $52 for restocking, and $150 for absolutely nothing. Buy your computer online from any of many excellent vendors. Best Buy is only good for DVDs and speaker wire. SERIOUSLY. You have been warned.
