Locksmith Industry in general Informative - Fradulent locksmiths

Review by Real Locksmith on 2010-06-22
I would like to pass along this warning about fradulent locksmiths operating in all 50 states. These guys quote you low rates and then jack up the price after they arrive. These companies import people from other countries with no experience and train them to just drill locks and sell poor quality locks etc. They usually demand cash and will often drive or follow you to an ATM/Bank to get paid. They have created thousands of phone numbers (always with real addresses but not theirs) that almost guarantee that they will be the first ones you get when you call. They have a central phone bank that forwards the call to their "locksmith" in the state you are calling from.

There are seven (7) states that the Attorney General has sued these guys and won. These guys pay their fines and just change their names to continue the scam.

Finally, they have hijacked addresses and some websites of REAL Locksmiths as well so beware. Ironically, there are some of these Fradulent Locksmiths advertising here on this webite.

Go to Legallocksmith.com (best site for info) or ALOA.com for verification of the issue.
