Cingular Wireless Informative - Beware of downloads
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- Here's a new one for you. I have been a loyal Cingular Wireless customer since July of 2003. I had initially got the free phone offer which at that time was the Nokia 3595. The phone was okay, service was fine, and my experience dealing with customer support was great thus far. Back in June, I wanted an upgrade (but was not yet eligible for one) so I shelled out $300 of my own money and paid the full (no contract) price for a motorola V400. Earlier this month, my phone went haywire. It would not turn on, and if it did it gave me a black screen with white words asking me to insert the usb cable to program... So, since I have insurance I simply called cingular and had a replacement sent to me.
When I powered up my new phone, I noticed that all of my downloads (games, ring tones and graphics, about $60 worth) were not there. You would think that the company would be able to re-send the downloads to my handset, but No... there is nothing they can do and basically told me that I would have to re-download (and re-purchase) all previously downloaded items or that I was at a loss for my $60. I am completely floored, and am sending a letter of complaint to the president. I have been a great customer to Cingluar, always pay my bills in full and on time, but they can't do this one thing for me?
I must say though, that I have gone through T-mobile, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and Nextel and up to now not one has compared to Cingular. But, I will keep you posted on my outcome...
