Anthony Plumbing Heating Cooling Complaint - Company did not fulfill its contract

Review by Ray Wilson on 2010-06-22
LENEXA, KS. -- On January 13, 2010 the company charged me $189.00 (my check # 1571) for a home boiler repair and a central A/C tune up for my house, to be done in June. I called in June and was told nobody planned to schedule my A/C tune up. We had been running the A/C for a couple of weeks, were planning to go on vacation and a tune up to help ensure reliable performance of the unit was not satisfactory to me if it was done late June or early July. I asked if they in fact ever intended to perform their contractual agreement, which they signed and collected money for. I was told someone apparently forgot. I told them I had no confidence that they would honor their contract and told them I wanted a refund for the A/C tune up. The request was never honored. I reported the matter to the Kansas City BBB and received a letter from them stating that I should notify them if anything changed in the matter. It has not. I still await a refund. Although I was never contacted by the company to schedule the tune up, they were quick to accept my check for the work to be performed. I will not contact them again for service, nor will I recommend them to anyone.
Company Response on 07/05/2011:
Our technicians perform tune-ups year-round and we guarantee the work for one year. Mr. Wilson's tune-up was not behind schedule. We offered to perform the tune-up and he declined. We refunded his money, as requested, in June 2010.

If you say you weren't refunded and the company says you were... I'd suggest contacting your bank (assuming you paid with a credit card?)

If you paid in cash, take it to small claims court. However have all your paperwork ready

It appears the company honored the request for a refund after this review was posted. Poster just never bothered to come back and addendum the complaint to reflect such. I guessing someone found this and pointed it out to Wendy, who in turn registered and updated the outcome.

ah.

kinda like the news in a way... how bad headlines are page 1, but corrections showing the person is innocent may be stuck back on page 5
