Farm Bureau Life Insurance Complaint - Frustrations about Procedures

Review by Simply Country on 2010-06-22
PLEASANT VIEW, TENNESSEE -- On February 2nd of this year my husband contacted Farm Bureau about getting life insurance. He was quoted a price and paid the amount stated. Two weeks later he was informed a nurse would come by to draw blood for tests. Standard procedure she said. So we waited to hear the results and we heard nothing. My husband called the agent to make sure everything was OK. He stated that the nurse would be coming back to do an EKG. The nurse would call the house and leave a message for us to call her. When we would call we would receive a recording. This went on for three weeks. She never called his cell phone. I called the agent to find out what was going on and he stated that they had cancel my husband's EKG. I asked him if my husband policy was in force and he stated no. The policy would not be enforce until they got the EKG results. It is now April and this has still not been settled. I stay home from work to receive the call from the nurse to schedule the appointment. After we finally get the results from the EKG they sent us a bill for $200.00 more dollars before the policy will go into effect. Needless to say we cancelled a policy that was never in effect.
