ICON Payment Solutions Complaint - Misinformation/Unhelpful
PHOENIX, ARIZONA -- ICON Payment Services approached the Hair Salon, stating that we were in a top percentage of shops, using credit card services, that had no callbacks on credit cards and no fraud. The Customer Service Rep, a very "sophisticated" young lady, said that we were eligible for lower rates on our credit card services. She was able to show us, how much we could save. Of course, in this economy, we listened. I was busy that day, but the Rep asked me to go to the back of the shop to sign the "contract". Hurrying me through the paperwork, I did ask "what if I change my mind?" She stated that I should not worry as I could cancel at any time. Nothing more regarding charges, etc. She asked for my SS#, which I was hesitant to give, but she explained that it was necessary. She left, in a hurry, leaving me with one sheet of paper, with my signature on, regarding leasing the credit card machine, as I was told that it was necessary to change the one I had.
Within the following 48 hours, hearing from other store owners, I changed my mind. My Assistant e-mailed the Rep, and stated that we would like to cancel the contract. No answer. My Assistant again, e-mailed the Company and the Rep. She also left several telephone messages, none of which were returned. The Rep answered after 7 days, stating she no longer had anything to do with this and we should contact the Company. ....PERIOD... Remember, we did not have a copy of the contract. Several letters were sent, more e-mails, more telephone calls, indicating our desire to cancel
