American Standard Complaint - Beware of hairline cracks in Am Standard plumbing fixtures.

Review by Hankess on 2010-06-22
PISCATAWAY, NEW JERSEY -- Please inspect American Standard plumbing fixtures for hairline cracks before they are installed in your home. They are not kidding when they only warrant their product for one year and you will not like other aspects of the warranty service. [See POOR QUALITY - American Standard Pedestal Sink, posted on this site 5/5/2005].
We had American Standard products installed in 2004. We only noticed hairline cracks in the pedestal sink, at the drain outlet, a few years ago and we think they are getting more noticeable. This is in a home with two old folks who travel a lot so it has been light duty service over the years.
We give American Standard high marks for their prompt reply to our complaint letter. Also. we have an apology that is actually signed by a technical service individual.

We also have an American Standard vintage style pedestal sink that we bought 2005. We now have hairline cracks in the drain area and two other places. This sink was in a spare bathroom and got little use, what a waste, should have bohgt Kohler
