Leasetrader Complaint - Not worth the money
I've been on both sides of using Leasetrader.com. When I sold my vehicle, they did not help at all and all of the paperwork they gave the purchaser and myself (they charged us each $140+) was not up to date nor current and caused the process to take over 3 weeks because we had to keep contacting the lender and getting the correct paperwork. Last week I wanted to give them another try and take over a short term lease as the purchaser. I was required to pay a $35 fee (in addition to the $140 they would charge me later for transferring the car) and run my credit to get pre-approved...I'm fine with all of that...I liked having a credit worthy person take over my lease. My complaint is they listed the vehicle as available and in order to get any information, I had to go forward. I was approved, got the contact info and contacted the owner. Never got a response from them (their vehicle was listed as available). I checked my account the next day and the car was removed from their list of available vehicles. I have a very specific need and would not have paid $35 just to belong to their site and have my credit run if there wasn't a car I specifically wanted. I contacted them about my complaint and they told me I have 45 more days to choose a vehicle. I may on their part, but on my part, I don't have 45 days available. If that car were not available, I wouldn't have signed up. I tried getting my money back, they wouldn't help and it just goes with all of my problems I had with them before. They offer a no-hassle lease trade, but don't provide the tools to help you, they don't make the phone calls and they give you misinformation. Not worth the money, unless you have the time to deal with them and the time to make your own phone calls.
