XM Satellite Radio Complaint - Do Not Bill in Timely Fashion to Cancel Service
In the last month I received a bill letting me know that it was time to renew the service after one year. As I do not use the service I chose to cancel the service. I noticed on the bill that the service ended on 5/28 but I didn't receive the bill until 2 weeks later. I immediately called the service and after multiple times of being bounced off the call or on hold for long periods of time I got through to an operator. To say the least I was very upset by their phone service only to reach a rude and hard to understand operator. I explained I wished to cancel the service and was told I would have to pay for the service between the end of my contract and that day. I explained that I just received the bill. She said they sent the bills two weeks ahead of the due date and the postal service was to blame. I live in a metropolitan area with great postal service and there is no way it would take 4 weeks to get a letter. XM Satellite Radio abuses its customers' trust by not doing business in a timely fashion and using that as an excuse to charge their customers additional fees. And on top of this, despite my expressed anger with the company they continue to try to get me to resubscribe. I have heard others say the same thing about the company and would never use the product again or recommend it to friends.
