Best Buy Complaint - Deceptive credit card practices
In September 2009, I purchased a 37" flat screen TV at Best Buy in Weatherford, TX. I was not happy with the picture and in less than 30-days returned the television (in it's original box, etc etc) to Best Buy and purchased a 40" flat screen at a higher rate, with the accompanying warranty, etc etc. I have all paperwork involved in both transactions, and ESPECIALLY the one showing where the 37" was EXCHANGED for a 40". The glitch is that Best Buy (dba HSBC Bank for their credit cards purchases) refuses to credit the first television. I have been told face-to-face by Best Buy employees that that is just the way it's done, that I must pay for BOTH televisions, then I will be credited for the FIRST!!!
I have wrote a detailed letter to HSBC (which included copies of all the documentation) and followed through with numerous phone calls with NO SATISFACTION.
I have added the charges listed on my monthly statements several times, and it still comes down to Best Buy and HSBC are charging my account for BOTH flat screen TV's although I have proof the first one was returned.
This is not good business and I do not believe I can be the only consumer out here that is being taken advantange of like this by Best Buy / HSBC.
