Dr. Joseph S. Goetz, M.D. Ophthalmologist Informative - Permanent Injury to my left eye by Dr. Goetz
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- December 11, 1996, Dr. Joseph Goetz, M. D., performed a cataract removal procedure on my left eye. It took him one-and-one-half hours. I woke-up and there he was on the bed with me. He explained to me that he could not remove the cataract. I would have to apply eye drops and eventually it would go away. Reason given was that my eye ball was too pointed.
My left eye continually drained of water for three years. The sixth year I went to another ophthalmologist.
He was outraged and asked me, "Who did this?" He explained that Dr. Goetz did not know what he was doing; that he had never seen an eye procedure so "botched" in all his years of practice.
That good ophthalmologist corrected the injury, but today I still have defective sight in that left eye. Therefore, Dr. Goetz should not be practicing. Not until 2007 did I realize that Dr. Goetz lied to me in order to cover-up his injury to my eye. A class action suite had been filed, but the five year limitation was passed; I was too late to sue him. If I could, I would and establish a fund to protect others form going to that doctor who does not know what he is doing.
