DirecTV Inc Complaint - N/A
N/A -- We decided that cable was too expensive to continue with so we went with an offer from DirecTV. Initially the only complaint was that we were told that DirecTV no longer was subject to loss of signal because of rain. This turned out to be a lie. It is still as prone to disruption because of rain as it has ever been. Eventually we decided that because of all the rain during the wet season here in Florida, DirecTV just was not a good deal. Therefore, we switched back to cable. DirecTV sent us boxes to return the receivers. My next bill said that I had a zero balance. Then we did not hear from them for about 3 months. Then all of a sudden they sent me a bill saying that I owed $90 for adult movies that we had purchased. I called and complained that we do not watch those kind of movies but DirecTV insisted that the bill was right. After complaining for a while they credited by bill for the amount. They then sent me a couple of bills showing that they had credited my account. Then suddenly I got a bill saying that because I did not pay the $90 they were sending it to a collection agency. When I called customer service I discovered that DirecTV had rebilled my account for the cards from the receivers. To this day they say I owe for adult movies.
It may be tempting to leave cable but whatever you do do not sign up for service with DirecTV.
