Once upon a Child Complaint - Waiting - Baby clothes/ Buying your babay items

Review by Thebyrds13 on 2010-06-23
CLARKSVILLE, TENNESSEE -- Once upon a Child in Clarksville, TN advertises that they buy your baby items back from you. They are a new/used baby store. I took two load of clothes up there 6/22/10 for them to go through and buy. They told me it would be a 3 hour wait. First off I live an hour away, so I had to stay in town while I waited. I did some shopping and called them when about 2 and a 1/2 hours had gone by and they told me again that it would be at least another hour. After a hour had gone by I went to pick up my money and any items that they had turned down, some brand new and out of 2 baskets they had pick 6 baby items....... What did they want to give me for those $5.85......Really for 6 items and after waiting for 3 and a 1/2 hours........ Well I won't be back in there. Their comment was well you didn't have to bring them to us.... you can bet I won't again.

It can sometimes take a while to see if the items you bring are in sellable condition and to make sure that they don't already have too many of a certain size, style, etc. If they already have plenty of what you brought, they may not want to purchase more and eat up storage space that could be used for other things they rarely get.

I stopped going to OUAC because of what the OP went through. Every time I would bring things in they would take a few items and that was it. It was not worth the 4 or 5 dollars I would make.

I think you should have donated the stuff as well. I worked with a a young girl whose husband lost his job. I just gave her what baby stuff I had left. the feeling of helping someone is a lot better than a 5 dollar check.
