Michaels Leather Complaint - Leather chairs

Review by wisteria on 2010-06-23
SPRINGFIELD, OREGON -- I purchased two leather, or what I thought was leather, chairs from Michales Leather & oak in Springfield on My 21, 2009. In April of 2010 I noticed the leather was peeling away on both arms of one of the chairs. Underneath was some thing that looked like it was leather or naugahide etc.
I wrote a letter to the store and received a response a few days later. They sent out a tech to take pictures of the chair and he left. I followed up with a phone call a few days later and was told that they had turned it over to the manufactureer and they were waiting for a response. I did not hear from the service department so called again the later part of the month on May 27,2010 and was told they were waiting for a response from the factory. I then emailed the Dept of Justice and they contacted Michaels Leather & Oak and they did receive a response from the stores service dept. They wrote a letter and said the factory is working on a solution to the problem. At this time Michaels leather & Oak is waiting to hear from the manufacturer. I do know they are passing the buck.
Do not buy any thing from this store. When we turned the chair over to see where it was manufactured all we found was it was made in China. I would not have bought the chair if I had known. So now after all this time I am still waiting and feel that nothing will be done.
Horrible place and I will never buy at any of their stores again.
