Direct Line Cruises Complaint - Expect to Pay More! - Cruise Reservations

I booked a cruise through Direct Line Cruises for an inside cabin. Several weeks later I asked to upgrade my cabin and referred to the price they advertised on there website. They told me I wasn't eligible for that price but I could upgrade at a much higher price. Rip Off!! I wrote a letter to the President of the agency and got no response. Don't book with them. Bad, Bad customer service.

You can usually do much better booking with the company itself rather than go through third party services.

BEJ, usually. I had a good (local) TA that found me some good deals in the past.

@BEJ: That is not necessarily true. Going direct will just ensure that you will have to constantly check for any price reductions because the "company" sure isn't going to let you know if the price drops. Plus, if something goes wrong, you're on your own and you'd better be prepared to put some time into resolving it yourself (customer service being what it is these days). I have a wonderful travel agent who goes to bat for me any time I am unhappy with something. I will NEVER book direct; besides, I have a busy life with too much to do as it is....let the agent do what she's good at....it doesn't cost me any more to book through her.
