Home Depot Complaint - Ceiling Fan/Light Dissatisfaction
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA -- A little over a year ago I purchased a Hampton Bay ceiling fan/light. I hired a handyman to install the fan. It did not work as one of the parts was defective. Handyman was able to get a replacement part from HD but charged us extra for the return trip. I tried to get HD to reimburse me for the extra charge since it was due to their defective part but got no response. After a couple of months the fan stopped operating properly. I wrote HD. No response. I called HD. Was told I would receive a return call within 48 hours. No call. Over the course of about 6 months I emailed HD. Received response that my business was important and that I would receive a response within 3-4 days. I continued to email HD with the same response after waiting anywhere from 30 - 45 days and continued to receive the same response. Now I get no response all. And now the fan does not work at all. $400 to waste on a defective fan that will cost me more to take down and bring into the store with no guarantees that will even work. I recently did some home remodeling and took my business to Lowe's. I'll never purchase anything from Home depot again. Defective products and defective customer service.
