Review by pam8 on 2010-06-24
MADISON, WISCONSIN -- Purchased 12 batteries 2 months ago, had only used half and they started leaking a white oily like liquid, they say DEC 2016 on them........They ruined our radio and I got rid of it, it was totally ruined...luckily I caught it before it ruined my dining room table that is an antique, handed down in our family...also had a couple in a flashlight and one also started leaking, and have now had others leaking...........Have had a very bad experience with them and will never buy that Ray-O-Vac Batteries again.........Hopefully no one else has the same problem, the company is very bad to have contact with.............The company goes by the name Spectrum Brands out of Madison, Wi

Why not contact the manufacturer and let them know? You might have just gotten a bad batch and they may not be aware of the problem. Your call might just save someone else from a ruined radio or flashlight if it is necessary to recall a defective batch.

In the meantime, spend a little extra and go with Duracell or a higher grade battery.
I'm with Hugh, call Rayovac and let them know what happened.

Take Hugh's advice and call the company. They would want to know that you got a bad batch. I've used Rayovac batteries many many times with no problems whatsoever. It's not a bad brand, I just think you got some defective ones.
