Metro Express Service (MES) Complaint - Lack of Maintenance on Air Conditioning
ARLINGTON -- They had a big ad in the paper about $59.00 Maintenance for my air conditioner. I checked with better business bureau and they had a A+ rating.
I scheduled, and when he came the first thing he wanted to see was my heater in the attic. After going up, he immediately called me to look at it. He had jiggled a pipe so that it was leaking a bit. I told him it had not been leaking, but the rust in the pan was due to a leak over 2 years ago. He then said I needed to replace it immediately, and they had plans that I could pay out. The unit was only 5 years old. Then he said he was checking my air conditioner and I told him that we never needed quite one unit of freon, because we were never at home when my husband was alive, and all last summer we were in Dallas either getting treatments or in the hospital. He came in and said it needed three because the leak had caused it to leak.
He charged me $107.00, and wrote on my ticket that I refused to buy new units. I went outside after he left, He was here a total of maybe 15 minutes), and the dust had not even been blown off of my air conditioner. I called them to complain, and they put me on hold until I hung up. I wrote BBB, and they wrote them a letter saying they had provided maintenance but to show good faith, they would give me free maintenance in the fall. Needless to say, I don't want them in my house again. The other tech that I called after he left confirmed that no maintenance had been done, and he refused to charge me because of the way I was treated by Metro Express.
