Gym X Complaint - Cancellation and refund

Review by Bell07 on 2010-06-25
WACO, TEXAS -- In Feb. 2009 I suffered a second heart attack and hoping to help regain a bit from it I got a membership at Gym X in Waco Tx. After about 7 visits if became to difficult to work out anymore and I contacted the conpany to cancel membership and try to recover a little of my money at least,(I had paid for the full year in advance). It seems that once they get your money they don't have much used to provide anymore customer service. I tried to explain to the membership relations person that me falling over and dying of a massive heart attack while working out would not be good for either of us.

I'm glad you are well now, and wish you the best. You need to get a letter from your doctor, saying working out at the gym, is not beneficial to your health at this time time. Then you put in writing you wish to cancel your membership. Send it return receipt registered usps mail. This should allow for the cancellation, but be prepared for cancellation fee's. As for the membership you were not able to use, I don't think you will get a refund for that, but you won't know unless you try. I'm sorry to say, they don't care about the customers, only about profits.

God advice from Skye. That is exactly what I would do too.
