Napster Complaint - Napster still Reeling from the 1990s - Music Downloads
Music Downloads - Complaint
Review by JimiHendrix on 2010-06-26
I can remember in the late 1980s and early 1990s the music industry sued all the file sharing companies to prevent them from offering their music on line for free. The original Napster was one of those companies, it re emerged as on of the leading providers of online music. It adhered to the standards all the Hollywood types required for them to stay in business.
Well like everything Hollywood gets passe. Their knowledge of technology is as ancient as the Apple IIe. When I purchase online music, I expect to have the same rights as if I went to a brick and mortar store and purchased a wax 45.
I do not want to continue to pay Napster tribute for being their. I do not want to down load the latest version of Napster just to play music I have already purchased. I find the continual download of the latest version of Napster to insure the license for "Bold as Love" by Jimi Hendrix in 2005 is still up to date. If I should purchase another computer I do not want to download Napster and restart my computer while I am in the middle of writing articles or editing my book. It is time they realized that Microsoft has lost the battle of music to Amazon and iTunes and provide us with music that does not require a subscription.
It is time Napster come into the 21st Century and stop being intimidated by the greedy as music companies whose interest don't match that of the customer. Or maintain the current format and provide unlimited downloads of purchased music. I want my music back.
