Dish Network Complaint - Told it would be cheaper to switch
Contacted Dish about "Dishing it Up" afer being told by a installer to do so to get around paying for the new equipment if I had been a good long standing customer. Contacted Dish, and was told there is such a program but there is a charge. I read him the most recent ads from both Dish and Direct TV on lower prices and no charges for installantion or equipment. He said he was aware of them but couldn't do anything about it. I asked him if in his opinion would it be better to switch and save money that way. He basically said yes. I told him they had just lost a customer. No real response from him. When we called to cancel they asked why and we told them basically what you read. No I'm sorry, just that they will be sending 2 labels to send the receivers back for $15.00 bucks each or they will charge our credit card up to $400.00 for receivers that are so old they are out-dated. What a rip off. I see Dish Network trucks on my street everyday. We should consider a class action suite for anyone that has experienced this from Dish or any other provider. If you are a lawyer or know a lawyer this would be millions and millions of dollars. The President should be notified. In this economy this is just as bad as the "add-ons" banks and credit card companies are being accussed of. I would gladly be the first in the class-action suite!
