Platinum Party Rentals Complaint - Taking advantage of people

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA -- This past New Years, 2010, I rented chairs, tables, and table cloths from Platinum Party Rentals. My cousin, from Mexico, who speaks very little English, returned the items to Gary ZenDell. First of all, Platinum Party Rentals claims to have hours of operation. However, when my cousin tried to return the items to Gary during the stated hours of operation, no one was at the office. My cousin had to work around Gary's schedule to return the items. When my cousin was finally able to return the items, Gary claimed that one of the table cloths was ruined because the material had been stretched in a quarter inch square area. Of course, my cousin couldn't understand Gary's description of the issue, nor could he argue against him. So, instead of calling me directly to explain the situation, Gary charged my credit card for the cost of the table cloth. Note that Gary had my cell phone number and had spoken to me before. When I inspected the table cloth, it was obvious that the small area had been stretch because it had been hanging on a hanger from the dry cleaners. I called Gary several times to discuss the issue but, of course, he never returned my phone call. I am of the opinion, that Gary took advantage of my cousin because he did not speak English, and was looking for a way to charge extra money. The amount was under $20, which is too small for small claims court. Otherwise, I would be very happy to take him to court. So, everyone please be advised that Platinum Party Rentals is not a reputable organization and will look to take advantage of you any way they can.
