Aussiedvd Complaint - FAKE DVD'S SOLD AS REAL by AussieDVDShop.com

Hi,
I was looking for 3 specific DVD collections. Found this site on line called AussieDVDShop.com and the prices looked good. I purchased these and with each set came a free DVD as a special offer.

I was surprised to see my goods came from China and not Australia as pictorialy the site indicates. I was also surprised to see the package marked "gift" and not giving the true contents.
The one collection will not play, the other 2 sets are really poor-and viewing is not possible.

The box set packaging I have to say is identicle to that on other sites.
The 3 free DVDs just came in pieces of plastic and only 1 will play.
I contacted HBO and privided them with images of the discs-they confirmed they were copies.

I informed the AussieDVDSop of this within 2days and they would only offer a 15% refund and I would have to send all back via recorded delivery-so not worth it. I also have to mention here on their website they offer a 100% money back.
When asked if they were copies they simply state they are over seas versions.

I am so disappointed, I spent a lot of money with these guys and have rubbish to show for it-they were so helpful until a problem occurred and now they will not respond to my email. If anyone has any ideas of where else to post and warn about this site please let me know.

I have had the same problem with AussieDVDShop.com fake crap, no service from them once they have had the money.
May I suggest you report them to New Zealand Federation against Copyright Theft-they will deal with these crooks, I think its too late for us but it may save someone else and let these people know they will not be tolerated.

I've just been conned by these crooks too! I spent $113 with AussieDVDShop.com thinking I was buying a genuine dvd box set from Australia. I realised I might be in trouble when I saw the transaction on my credit card stating that the sale originated in China. Sure enough, when the goods finally arrived they were of such poor quality they were unwatchable. I was told that they could be returned but only if tracked but the quote I received from the post office was for $59 so not worth it. After investigating further it's unlikely I'd get a refund anyway. Well, it's a lesson learned by me that's for sure! Thanks Celtdownunder re: reporting them to the NZF against Copyright Theft...I'll be doing exactly that!

I got burnt by them too. I ordered a box set that I had been looking everywhere for. I too expected the goods to be from Australia as depicted on their website. I received burnt copies in sleeves. I then returned the items (at my cost) and have for 5 weeks been chasing my refund. Did anyone receive their refund?

sorry they got u too, so I sent my dvds to FACT [federation against copyright theft] Aussie dvd said they would send me new ones,,, but I did not hold my breath. I did speak to my credit card company who claimed the money back from them. May I suggest you follow that route as u will "never" get anything from these thieves. Good luck.

I'm glad I found this post, I did a Google search for 'aussiedvdshop.com testimonials'... I read the contents of the few things posted here and decided to go through my local government (South Australia's) fair trading website to find information about internet scams such as this one. There is a website called scamwatch.gov.au where you can report incidents such as these. I think it would be a great idea to do so as others may be more trusting and not think to Google search testimonials before buying.
