American Airlines Complaint - Always read reviews first
Unlike many of the reviewers here, I didn't have as bad traveling experience, but I do want to note that their customer service leaves a lot to be desired and plenty of room for improvement (as do all the others, I'm sure). We purchased a 3-part (hotel+flight+car) package at AA.com. Obviously the bold price wasn't the final price but you would think once you confirmed the TOTAL CHECKOUT PRICE, that means just that. However, it didn't. Upon return of the car, the rental car company (Alamo) charged additional taxes to my credit card. I explained this was a package deal paid in full at AA.com. However, they withstood the price did not include taxes. Thus, can AA explain what TOTAL CHECKOUT PRICE means? After presenting this question to them, of course they could not validate why taxes were not included when it clearly said TOTAL price. Of course I would expect AA, or Alamo for that matter, to reimburse me of this unjustified and surprise charge, but will they? Well I've [obviously] have received my first 'NO' from AA. Doesn't look like they will after reading these reviews from other travelers' far worse experiences. I want to thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and experience with others as I will make future travel arrangements accordingly (in other words...not with AA if at all possible). I hope these reviews are honest and accurate to the best of the writer's ability as they do provide insight from the consumer's prospective in allowing others to make informed decisions.
