Marshfield Chevrolet Complaint - Poor Businees Practice

Review by Walleye on 2010-06-27
MARSHFIELD, MISSOURI -- I found a Chevy truck online that I was interested in buying. I talked to the salesman on the phone and desided to take the 105 mile drive up to Marshfield, Mo. to see the truck. I drove the truck and talked to the finance man and got everything in order. I then told them I would like to discuss it with my wife. I asked If I called later and gave them a credit card number would they take it as a deposit. The salesmen said yes while standing in front of the finance man. I asked how much deposit they required and he told me $500.
I tried calling him on my cell about an hour later and could not reach him but later did. I told him I want the truck and he took my Credit Card number. That was at about 4PM. on Friday. I told him I would come and get the truck on Monday or Tuesday, He that would be OK. Saturday morning about 9AM I called to ask a couple of questions about the truck. He told me the truck was sold last night that they had taken a deposit on it. I told him I had given him my card number and he told me they can only take cash deposits after taking my card number etc.
He asked me if I would be interested in another truck a different color. I told him to forget it. I would not buy anything from this dealer after that. I just don't trust people who do business like this.
