Levitz Furniture Corporation Informative - Do not purchase the 7 year warranty.
NEW JERSEY -- I highly recommend against purchasing the 7 year extended furniture warranty Levits tries to push on you near the end of your transaction. It's not worth the paper it's printed on. The salesman stated the warranty covered everything from minor spills to all out catastrophies. We had our sofa for about 1 year when we noticed that the cushions were coming apart at the seams. Called warranty the company and were very quickly told that the warranty did not cover it because we did not report it within the mandatory 5 day period. The seems could not have come apart within the last five days because they splits were so extensive. They give you 5 days to report accidents. This is their out. Of course when you call Levits, their hands are tied because the warranty goes through another company. It's a total rip-off and the warranty wasn't cheap either. Unfortunately for them I think I might just "accidentally" spill a bottle of ink all over the couch and of course call them the moment it happens. Now they can give me a new couch instead of just the cushions. If you want to avoid having to take such drastic measures, you're better off not buying from Levits at all, but if you do, don't waste your scratch on the warranty.
