Convergent Solutions Complaint - Careful who you work with...

Review by Buddy Dog on 2010-06-29
MENOMONEE FALLS, WISCONSIN -- This company recently acquired a business known as "Phone-Tec Inc". We have had several dealings with this company and find its repair methodologies to be questionable. While we would call to have them repair a problem, their repair person would ask a lot of questions of the receptionist or whomever as to how the system should be configured. Since they were the installers, they should have maintained detailed notes as to what the defaults of the system were and even why they were chosen. Instead, he asks someone who is performing other duties to pick a process on the fly and sets it up that way. Then when it is discovered the system is no longer working like it should they charge you for a second call! Then you get fed up with this track record you find out they have not provided you with important passwords on the system and you can't leave them...like you don't even own your system! They assured us they would provide us with the passwords if we paid their second charges, etc. We even went to small claims court but the system determined they were there, did what they were told and should be paid...now we are still waiting for them to fulfill their testimony that if paid they would give us our passwords...
Company Response on 07/07/2010:
You do not stay in business without doing the job right and Phone-Tec, Inc. had successfully been in business since 1976 providing business telephone systems to southeastern Wisconsin. However, on occasion you come across a customer that is not worth doing business with and John Brandt SC along is just one of those customers.

On numerous occasions John Brandt, SC called in for service work for their phone system and after the work was performed, according to their specifications, they refused to pay the invoice. After having waived 2 prior invoices in an attempt to keep a customer happy the 3rd complaint prompted legal action. After presenting the facts in court the judge decided the fees were to be paid. John Brandt, SC chose to fight again and appeal the decision requiring us to return to court. Once again the facts were presented and the judge’s decision was that the bill was legitimate.
Over 1 year later Phone-Tec has been paid what it is owed and has sold its assets to Convergent Solutions, alleviating them from any liability and dealings with John Brandt, SC.
