JK Harris Complaint - Watch dates on Contract - Tax Relief

Tax Relief - Complaint
Review by gussy on 2010-06-29
JK Harris' representative toldk me that they need to take payments out of my checking account so I agreed and she told me the dates, which were on my pay dates at work so I said ok those are good dates. When she wrote them down she wrote down dates that were a week off. The first date being before the contract was ever signed. (MY mistake for not checking out the dates written down.) So the first check came out right away which I thoug was ok because the first date was the Friday after the contrct was signed. The problems began the next week when a second payment came out and there was no money in the account. The check bounced along with some other checks. I called the company to find out why the second payment was taken out a week early and was told the dates set up. At this point I called the representative and informed her of the mistake and she said she would fix it. That she might have to send me a new contract. I never heard another word and didn't receive a new contract so I thought everything was fixed. Then another payment was taken out on a non-pay week for me and there was not enough money to cover the check and I bounced checks again. (more overdraft fees) Now I called the representative and company and told the to cancel my contract and not take the last payment out. No return call. Again on a non-pay week they took out the payment I ask them not to take out. Now I am being told it will take 30-45 day to refund my money if I get any back. With all the problems I didn't give them any paperwork so they didn't do anything for me except cause me to have overdraft fees and they want to take part of my money. By the way I paid them $1590.00 dollars for nothing. Please be careful in dealing with this company. Check your contract out very carefully before signing.

Allow me to give you some free advice; the IRS doesn't make a habit of reducing the amount of taxes you owe, the best case scenario is that they reduce/remove penalties and late fees. You can do everything necessary just by calling the IRS an explaining your situation. Chances are they will set you up with a payment plan and give you up to three years to pay.The down payment you gave to this company would go a long way towards a down payment with the IRS.
