Allied Van Lines Complaint - Terrible Customer Service

Review by Arcelus on 2010-06-29
COLUMBUS, GEORGIA -- My son just recently moved from Georgia to upper state New York. Allied Van Lines was to pack him up on Friday before he moved but some misunderstanding with company caused them to delay the packing until Monday before he left on a train for New York on Tuesday evening. The movers were to deliver on Friday on that same week. Now is it Tuesday of the next week and his belongings are still in Georgia. They classified him as a military move instead of an individual move and crated everything up and stored it in Columbus, Ga. Repeated calls to the company have been discouraging. He has basically been told you will get in when it gets there. They won't even give him a delivery date. The company would pay for part of a hotel room but because of the holidays the hotels are full. They would buy him air beds but since he has already purchased them, they won't pay for that either. They have 2 children and are having to camp out on the floor. He is starting a new job and this does not help the transition. Be very careful if you plan to use this company. They don't care for the customer or customer service.
