DHL Complaint - DHL & LD FD delivery loss
NORWALK, CALIFORNIA -- I had orderd an accessory part for my PDA from Dell. Everything was going really good until they used the DHL shipper. As soon as I received my tracking number from Dell, I looked it up on the DHL website for tracking status. On 1-2-05 the package was in transit and on 1-5-05 it was supposedly left at the front door of my house at 11:30am. I made sure to be home on the day of the delivery to receive it. After 1pm I decided to look on the DHL website for current status and to my amazement, it was listed as "LD FD". Fine, I opened my front door and nothing was there, I even looked all around my house to see if it may have been dumped off somewhere else. Nothing, I went to my neighbors on both side's of my house and even accross the street and they didnt receive anything. One neighbor suggested it was dropped off elsewhere as it has happend before to them too. I called DHL to tell them what happend and I was told they would ask the driver where it was left. They called 1-7-05 and said the driver already dropped it off on 1-5-05 and suggested it was stolen or that I may have something to do with it's loss. That pissed me off and told them the driver is lying. The rep said the driver told them it was delievred, etc. and contact the shipper. F******!! I said and hung up. Contacted Dell for a replacement and luckly they are in the process of re-issuing the package. I told the Dell Rep if they use DHL to be sure to require a signature since the driver dropped it off somewhere else and lied about. It's sad that DHL wont take responsability for the driver's incompetence. They probably asked the guy if he delivered it and he probably just said 'yeah. They should check the van's GPS location history to see where he has driven and see if he really dropped it off at the right address. FedEx is WAY better than DHL but they think FedEx costs more.
I have no control as to which shipper's the company use's, but DHL really SUCKS! For worst service, lost shipments and customer disatisfaction, DHL is for you!
