Kelly Emmaus Pa Informative - Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget

Review by Irvnot on 2010-06-30
EMMAUS, PENNSYLVANIA -- Went to this dealership with the intent of purchasing one of two different GM vehicles which would've been a repeat sale for this dealership.

We had commented on how very expensive the SUVs had become and our salesperson said to us, "a lot of people have Champagne taste on a beer budget." I was very put off by this comment.

From that point on, the sales person appears to have decided that we could afford less than we were test driving. They proceeded to try to point us at SUV's by another manufacturer that "weren't as expensive."

Bottom line - we took our "Champagne taste" to another dealer and purchased what we wanted to begin with.

Did you call and let the manager know that you were offended by the salesman's comment? I would have and also let him know that you purchased the vehicle you wanted from another dealership because of the salesman's conduct.

Not exactly sure why this comment bothered you. I have heard it numerous times in different situations, and while you seem to have deemed it inappropriate, it is a valid comment in today's materialistic society.

Good grief what a dimwitted salesman. I can't imagine this guys eats very well working sells with those people skills. That's it piss off the customer so that you can hit the phones cold calling to get another prospective buyer on the lot.

Good review and VALID COMPLAINT.
