Spectrum Collision Center, Irvine, CA Compliment - Simply the Best - BMW 745Li, body work
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA -- I am delighted to recommend, in the strongest possible terms, Spectrum Collision in Irvine, California. It is rare that someone has such a wonderful experience with the service they receive from an automobile body shop that they are grateful, not so much for the damage done to their car per se, but because the damage was the impetus for an extraordinarily positive life experience. As fantastic as this idea sounds, I have had this experience. Spectrum repaired both my BMW 745Li, which had serious front-end and rear-end damage, and my Toyota Sienna Minivan, which had serious front-end damage. Spectrum has convinced me that there are people in the car service industry who are in the business, first of all, because they love people; they not only want their customers to be immensely happy, but also enthusiastic perfectionists like Spectrum’s own employees are about their cars. And, secondly, they have convinced me that there are people in the car-service business because they genuinely love cars. And, thirdly, they have convinced me that there are people in the business who love and take pride in their work. It would be an understatement to say that the employees at Spectrum go “the extra mile” or “beyond the call of duty” or that “they give 110%.” The performances of the employees at Spectrum are so remarkable that they are beyond measure. Let me turn to some specific examples from my experience.
I originally called Spectrum because I had received two completely different estimates for the same damage from Sterling Collision Center in Tustin; I went back for a second estimate because I had misplaced the first one and received the second estimate from a different person. At Spectrum, I spoke with Dan Gonzales on the phone. He is their technical interface with customers regarding everything about the details and overall appearance of your car: he makes sure that the work is done to his satisfaction, which means that it must be perfect, and that your car is impeccably clean and restored; I mean as clean and restored as it can possibly become. Dan was so personable and thorough over the phone that I decided to give Spectrum a chance; one of the significant technical areas where his thoroughness was especially impressive was in his explanation of color blending and the chemical composition of paints; this guy really knows his stuff. While they worked on my cars, Dan called me regularly to discuss their progress with me. He was attentive to my concerns, and he explained every detail of the progress they were making. And he did extra cleaning, replaced my wiper blades, and even took my car for an oil change without charging me anything extra. Moreover, this guy is so friendly and conscientious that he made me feel better about people in general. My wife, who can be difficult to please, adored him too. When I gave him a $50 tip, rather than keeping it for himself, he walked over to the guys working under him and gave it to them. Dan loves his work, loves his staff and employer, and makes you love them too. Whoever hired Dan to be the business’ front man is a genius.
Next, I want to tell you about Rob DeJong, who is one of the Project Managers. Rob’s job is to oversee every aspect of the repairs done to your car. Like Dan, Rob is exceptionally personable, and willing to take the time you need to fully understand the damage and necessary repairs to your car. When I went to Spectrum to check them out to see if I wanted them to repair my BMW (I have owned three and have had some bad experiences at other shops), Rob gave me a tour of all of their facilities. He explained all the tools and machinery they use as well as the procedures they follow. They are, incidentally, a certified BMW repair shop (one of five in California and the only one in Orange County), and it quickly became clear to me why BMW chose to endorse them. The work spaces are clear and packed with the most advanced technology that I have ever seen in an auto body shop. If one were to compare Rob’s “bedside manner” to that of most doctors today, one would definitely conclude that he is the doctor for you. His knowledge is vast, having worked at a couple of Orange County’s leading body shops before joining the team at Spectrum, and he is trained by BMW. This guy is outstanding.
All of the other employees I interacted with at Spectrum also hugely impressed me, from the always-cheerful women working at the front desk to the General Manager of the whole facility, Luis Pineda, who called me to make sure that I was satisfied with both the work done to my cars and the way I was treated by his staff. If it is not abundantly clear at this point, Spectrum immensely impressed me with the quality of their work and the conscientiousness of their employees.
I recommend Spectrum Collision with great admiration, enthusiasm, and confidence. Take your car to Spectrum Collision; you will be happy you did!
