DirecTV Inc Complaint - Dont buy TIVO receiver from them
I had Direct TV come to my house for a new install. The tech and installed the cable right inside the back doorway so that its
out in plain view. He ran the cable ACROSS the doorway, not only in one instance but also upstairs. I could go on and on, but the point is,
I was so infuriated I called the company and told them and told them to come pick up their equipment.
Well 4 weeks later they sent me boxes to do it.
They do not come out and take down all the black
cable they ran on the outside of my house, and across the roof. They do not do anything about the
fact that they drilled holes right through the walls instead of going under the house, or dropping the line from the attic. (They only do
the installation CORRECTLY if you pay them 75.00
to do it the ONLY way is should be done.
My complaint is I had to pay $100.00 for the DVR (TIVO) I only had the service for about a week. I called to cance within 48 hours
They said I had to return all the receivers to them to keep from having a $150 cancellation fee.
Which I did. But they REFUSE to give me back the
$100 I paid for the TIVO. They said once its activated they will not refund any money. This is
ludicrious!!!!!! If I had purchased the same equipment from Best Buy they would gladly give me
a full refund.!!!!!!
Since I called to cancel within 3 days I think it
should fall within the "3 DAY COOLING OFF PERIOD"
which means as a consumer I have a right to cancel
a contract, return all equipment and receive a full refund.
AFTER 4 frustrating phone calls,I finally got a person to give me a $100 credit
on my account. After about 6 more long FRUSATRATING calls back to the company, I was told
the credit was put in against service and since I did not keep my service, I could not use the credit.
How stupid. If I wanted a refund for equipment I purchased, why would they give me a credit against
service they knew I was cancelling.
First they told me I would get a check in 4-6 weeks. (It only took 2 minutes to get the credit card info over the phone - but takes 6 weeks to get MY MONEY back.
Now they tell me I have no refund coming, that since the credit was against service, and I cancelled the service, they wiped out the credit.
Someone in the refund department made this
desicion I was told.
And that my account was showing at $0 and that
"I DID NOT OWE THEM ANYTHING"!!!!!
I am sick and tired of dealing with these people
about this issue. Each time I call I have to go throught the automated nonsense, get some customer
service person who put me on hold after I explain the problem, and would each one come back and tell
me something totally different.
The last call to customer service lasted 90 minutes!!!!
This is not right. If I bought something from them
returned it to them in perfect condition, then they should have no problem refunding my money.
Not only that, but why does it take 6 weeks to
get a refund, when they take your money in 2 minutes with a credit card!!!!
I want to make sure that everyone knows that they
have the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have EVER ran
across. With them they are not at all wanting to
make you happy, especially since I amy no longer a customer. They just take your money and run
