Patrick BMW, BMW North America Complaint - Patrick BMW- Sleazy Sales Practices

SCAHUMBURG, ILLINOIS -- Worst car buying experience for me ever. Told me we had a deal over the phone- Had me sign over my title and fill out and sign the purchase agreement, took my certified check,let me cook, and then came back and said the they needed $1,000 more because my trade-in was not of the value that they wrote up the purchase agreement on. Watch out for Patrick BMW, especially for David Grauer. I tried to contact the sales and general manager multiple times and they never responded.

Update: As a follow-up to my posting on January 11, 2005 regarding Patrick BMW, while I was not pleased at the increase in the purchase price of my vehicle based upon the dealership's appraisal of my trade-in, I retract my statement that the increase in the purchase price of my vehicle was the result of any "bait and switch" by Patrick BMW.

Dear John, sorry you had such a horrible experience. I can assure you this is not a BMW of North America custom. I purchased a new BMW 3 Series in 2000 from BMW of Macon,Georgia. I was treated like a queen before and after the sale. It is unfortunate that you live in Ill., because the "southern hospitality" that I received from this dealership was outstanding. I am very satisfied with BMW performance and the customer service that BMW of NA provided me. Please shop elsewhere. Goodluck, Happy BMW owner

Follow-up: Patrick BMW is now seeking a temporary restraining order against me for posting this. I guess the truth hurts.

Call the BMW Corporation and complain to them about this company.
This company sucks: Patrick – for them to file a restraining order on you is poor business practices. The apparently have practice of filing on people – so they should have a history of filing on other people – research it. I will never buy a BMW – crappy cars and costly to repair. Is this their site: BMW http://www.patrickbmw.com ?

NEW CENTURY BMW City of Alhambra. in California is good sales department but got a car that's less than 4 days old with only 270 miles on it FAILED WITHOUT WARNING stuck in the middle of traffic if it was on freeway i wouldn't be here, to type this letter and after 3 days without a dignostic information regarding my vehicle status. WORST CAR TO BUY! STAY AWAY

There are so many BMW dealerships in the area that there is no reason to go to this one. Just take a look at their facility: it looks like a Yugo dealership, not a BMW facility. It's clear they are only interested in making a buck. Filing lawsuits against their customers for complaining? Boy there is a warning sign.

They are all the same(dealerships) I just had a similar situation with a 335i advertised by Tischer BMW (Silver Springs)on Auto trader and their own web site for49,981 all confirmed by Emails and phone conversations but guess what, when you get their it was a listing mistake and the cars price jumped to 56,781, I told them where they could stick it, so they are all the same"just get you into the dealership and they will wear you down,keep your keys what ever Con the can pull, they will, what a shame buying a car use to be the most fun thing you could do not its not, maybe with the economy they will fall just like the home builders, remember you pass the same people on the way down that you did on the way up...

Its not that way everywhere you go. And, for the record, sometimes there are legitamite mistakes. But, of course, dealers are never allowed to make them...because all the customers of course never make any.

Aerocave, you must be a car sales person, the had # weeks and 11 Email to correct their mistake, 1 Sales manager, 1 Salesperson, and 1 Internet Sales person, 4 wrong listings 1 on thier inventory, 1 on auto trader , 2 on other car listing sites, I don't think it was an honest mistake, I think the old FOX (70 years old) knows the game a little better than the smart ass BMW employees and if I didn't have written proof i'm sure they would be in my face with a law suit...
