Alspaw Tree Service Complaint - Alspaw Tree Service Complaint

Review by consumer0987 on 2010-07-06
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA -- Alspaw Tree Service trimmed and removed a tree in my neighbors yard. My neighbor asked if they could come on our side to pick up the limbs, and I said yes. Saying yes was a huge mistake! I came home from the grocery store to find my drive completely full of limbs, after a bit the workers move a few limbs and motioned for me to drive over pieces of limbs. I explained to them that I said they could come on my side to remove the limbs not block my drive with limbs. A hour or so later my son experienced the same problem. When they finally removed the limbs and I was on my way to run a errand Alspaw Tree Service had my drive blocked with their truck. After the Alspaw Tree crew left I had to clean the saw dust and leaves off my drive and walk. When I was cleaning the walk I noticed a fresh oily spill in the gutter and went and told my neighbor, she said she would give Alspaw Tree Service a call. Alspaw Tree Service came to my door and said they do use a oil and gas mixture but he did not cause the spill but he would clean it up. I was told he would be there June 18th with a steam cleaner. I told him this was a fresh spill that his truck was parked in front of our house, and the gutter was clean 2 days ago because I always clean the grass up after the gardener and we never park in front of our house in fact very few cars park on the street in our neighborhood. When he came to the door he also said his crew said they did not block my drive (maybe he should stay at the job site and keep a better eye on his crew). Two weeks had passed so I called him and he said he was NOT going to clean up the mess, that my husband should call the city and have them do it. WHY SHOULD THE CITY CLEAN UP THE MESS? I let my neighbor know that he said he was not going to clean it up and she said she would call him and take care of it (several days has passed and no response). All I can say is because of my experience with ALSPAW TREE SERVICE I do not recommend letting tree trimmers or any other business that is not working for you on your property.

Since your neighbor was the one that hired them maybe they should take the responsibility of cleaning it up and then THEY can deal with Alspaw. Interesting that they have trees now in Bakersfield, though, when I was there in '61 all we had was a bunch of tumbleweeds. Times have changed.
